In 2019 we celebrated our 5th year of Family Camp! We are so thankful to God for how far he has brought us and the way Family Camp has grown over the years. 2019 was our biggest yet and it was our best so far!
When I had the idea of starting Family Camp in 2014, I couldn’t have imagined the effect it would have on the family culture within the Church. On a regular Sunday, we all split into our different groups which sometimes means it can be difficult for relationships to be built between generations. The purpose of Family Camp is to create a space to build stronger relationships within the Church family across all age groups. Over the years I have seen a positive change in how we relate to each other. Family Camp creates the space for people to develop a deeper understanding of one another.
The impact the culture at Family Camp has had is evident and continues to show now. Personally I’ve come to know people much better which has made me more passionate about making sure everyone is included. The opportunity to serve, clean and compete in sports between the various colour teams adds a special dimension to Family Camp. Everybody is involved and nobody is left out. We are grateful that what we envisioned Family Camp to be, is being fulfilled.
I want to say thank you to everyone who attends, Family Camp wouldn’t be the same without you all there! Thank you especially to everybody who has contributed to making Family Camp happen, their hard work and everything they do is appreciated by all of us at Family Camp.
If you want to get involved, there are so many areas that need filling, speak to one of the leadership to find out more.
